T he virus was named as Hantaan virus, after the name of the river Hantan. This initial discovery dates back to scientific approaches that were initiated after the Korean war (1951-1953), during which more than 3,000 cases of Korean hemorrhagic fever were reported among United Nations (UN) troops. A review of data from around 1.57 million US adults concluded that the chances of developing liver cancer increased by almost 10% for every two-inch growth in waistline. For men it was concluded that a 38% increased risk for every five-point increase in their body-mass index or BMI. While women faced a 25% increase in risk. A new study have suggested that for every 5 cm increase in an individual’s waistline, increases their risk of liver cancer by almost 10%.
